The questions we get every day.
What decides the price?
Distance, vehicle size and weight, open versus enclosed, whether it runs, how accessible the pickup and delivery addresses are, and the season. A pickup truck from Miami to Boston in November costs more than a sedan on the same lane in July. We quote the whole thing up front — no fuel surcharge added later.
Is my vehicle insured while it is on the truck?
Yes. Your vehicle is covered by our cargo insurance from the moment it is loaded until it is signed off at delivery, and we will send you the certificate of insurance before pickup if you want to see it. Your own policy stays in force as usual — it is not a substitute for it.
Can I leave personal items in the car?
Federal rules keep us from hauling household goods, so keep it light: up to about 100 lbs in the trunk, below the window line, is the usual allowance. Personal items are not covered by cargo insurance, so take anything valuable, and take the toll transponder out.
Open or enclosed — which do I need?
Open is right for most cars and costs meaningfully less. Go enclosed when the vehicle is rare, freshly painted, very low, collectible, or when you simply do not want it exposed to weather and road debris for three days.
How far ahead should I book?
Three to seven days is comfortable for most lanes. In snowbird season (October to December heading south, March to April heading north) give it one to two weeks. We do take same-week and same-day Florida moves when a truck is close by — call and ask.
Do you really come to my door?
Yes, as close as the rig can legally and safely get. A 75-foot carrier cannot enter most gated communities, cul-de-sacs or low-clearance garages, so in those cases the driver meets you a few minutes away at a wide lot — a plaza or a shopping center — and you both walk the car over.
How do I pay?
A deposit reserves the truck once we dispatch, and the balance is due at delivery. Exact terms and accepted payment methods are confirmed in writing on your quote before anything is scheduled.
